About the Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course
Every government-approved BDE course follows the same structure regardless of school: 40 hours total, including at least 20 hours of classroom instruction (in-person or digital), 10 hours of in-vehicle training with a licensed instructor, and 10 hours of flexible instruction, completed within a year of starting. Graduating cuts your G1 wait time from 12 months to 8, and may qualify you for an insurance discount.
